Dedert currently has a position open for a Sales / Process Engineer

Position: Sales / Process Engineer

Location: Homewood, IL USA

Reports to: Vice-President Sales/Process

Summary:

Communicate with customers to determine their process requirements. Prepare design cost estimates and proposals. Coordinate with Manager to follow-up on all proposals in order to close the sale; once closed transfer the project to the Dryer Project Execution Department by means of a Project Kick-Off meeting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Log incoming inquiry
  • Discuss with customer as necessary to fully define customer requirements. Meet with clients as needed
  • Determine the optimum process solution in conjunction with the Process Engineering Manager
  • Produce process calculations and mass/energy balance to define component sizes and performance
  • Work with engineering to produce process flow diagram and preliminary GA drawings for submission to customer
  • Review budgetary and detailed estimates with procurement group
  • Prepare proposal with details relevant to the level of inquiry
  • Review estimate and proposal with the VP Sales prior to submission to customer
  • Track progress on the status of the file. Prepare sales tracking
  • Once sold, transfer the project to the project management department who will execute the project in accordance with the Company Project management systems
  • Plant commissioning and start-up
  • Travel Required (10-20 %)
  • Participate in Pilot Plant Testing

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 3-5 Years minimum experience
  • Experience with Process Equipment
  • Driven self-starter focused on results
  • Skills in customer relations
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Excel skills
