Position available for Atomizer Technician

Reports to: Atomizer Development Manager

Position Summary: The Atomizer Technician will work on Dedert's patented high speed rotary atomizers and be responsible for the assembly, testing and servicing of mechanical equipment and related control panels. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to grow as the company tries to scale the three product lines (25kW, 100kW and 300kW) from prototype to production phase.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting and disassembly, both mechanical and electrical, of the complete rotary atomizer system as assigned by the supervisor
  • Lead/assist with the atomizer testing as required during the prototype testing phase and then subsequently on the production machines
  • Complete test setups and instrumentation, run and observe tests and acquire/record the necessary test data for analysis by engineering
  • Performs tests on specific parts and systems to confirm proper mechanical function; ensures that all critical parts are examined
  • Order parts and organize inventory
  • Manage and maintain equipment, tool calibration, and documentation records
  • Be able to organize own work, propose bes t practices and standard procedures as the company goes into production mode
  • Domestic and International travel to support atomizer installation/ commissioning as needed (25-30%)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned individually or as part of a team

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Have an associate degree or other postsecondary training/certification on mechanical/automobile engineering technology with at least 4-5 years of experience. (Preferable)
  • Basic understanding of 480V electric motors, PLC's, VFD's, their assembly/operation and be aware or up to date on industry best practices
  • Ability to read/interpret drawings, work instructions and use tools, fixtures, testing apparatus
  • Experience plumbing and operating hydraulic systems is a plus
  • Strong willingness to learn, go above/ beyond to get the job done, and a good team player
  • Be willing to work weekends as assigned/ needed with additional compensation
  • Be comfortable in a fast paced, deadline-oriented business environment


Positions available for Technical Sales Engineers

Reports to: Vice-President Sales/Process

Position Summary: Communicate with customers to determine their process requirements. Prepare design cost estimates and proposals. Coordinate with Manager to follow-up on all proposals in order to close the sale; once closed transfer the project to the Dryer Project Execution Department by means of a Project Kick-Off meeting

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Log incoming inquiry
  • Discuss with customer as necessary to fully define customer requirements.
  • Prepare proposal with details relevant to the level of inquiry.
  • Travel to customer site to present technical solution
  • Determine the optimum process solution in conjunction with the Process Engineering Manager
  • Track progress on the status of the file. Prepare sales tracking.
  • Produce process calculations and mass/energy balance to define component sizes and performance
  • Work with engineering to produce process flow diagram and preliminary GA drawings for submission to customer
  • Review budgetary and detailed estimates with procurement group
  • Review estimate and proposal with the Division Manager prior to submission to customer
  • Once sold, transfer the project to the project management department who will execute the project in accordance to the Company Project management systems.
  • Performance Audits at customer site
  • Travel Required (10-20 %).
  • Participate in Pilot Plant Testing.

Reports to: Vice-President Sales/Process

Position available for Project Managers

Reports to: Vice President Project Management
Position Summary: Execute all facets of projects including the financial and technical success. Serve as primary contact between Dedert and customer's designated representatives. Coordinate the efforts of the Lead Designer assigned to their projects.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Writes equipment specifications and coordinate with process engineer to ensure accuracy
  • Assists purchasing department in negotiations with suppliers
  • Prepares Purchase Order Requisitions
  • Works with Design Department and answer all questions on equipment specifications
  • Reviews internal and external drawings to ensure equipment meets correct specifications
  • Monitors schedule and all tasks to ensure projects are performed on time
  • Ensures that Quality Assurance Inspector performs inspection of the fabricated and purchased equipment
  • Maintains Project Control Chart and track all costs to maximizes profit margins
  • Maintains Electronic Project files
  • Ensures timely invoicing to Customers to maximize cash flow.
  • Approves suppliers invoices
  • Collects all Spare Parts price in conjunction with the purchasing department
  • Collects all documentations required for the project
  • Prepares Operating and Maintenance Manual

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering
  • Minimum ten years' experience in a Project Engineering field of large industrial evaporator and dryer system
  • Fabrication and welding techniques including associated quality expectations
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, Word, and AutoCad
  • Good interpersonal skills
