Vetter Disc Dryers

Disc dryers are especially suited for drying pasty products or sludge-like products.

Function and Principle of Operation

Double-walled discs sitting on a central tube are heated by steam from the inside. The product is continuously circulated in the rotating disk bundle, and shovels fixed at the circumference transport the product axially through the disc bundle dryers. Scrapers that are fixed between the discs ensure thorough mixing of the product and also prevent product from sticking to the discs. Indirect heating allows a gentle and environmentally friendly drying process.

Different Designs 
Disc bundle dryers are available made of mild steel or of stainless steel. 
The heating surface can be designed from 30 m² to 400 m². The evaporation capacity is up to 20 kg H2O (m2 x h). 
Design and construction of disc dryers follow international standards, such as TÜV, ASME, APAVE, JIS etc. 
Heating medium: steam (saturated steam)
